UW-Community Partnerships was founded with a single purpose and passion: to link diverse communities across the Yakima Valley with the University of Washington to do work of mutual value and to create models for others to follow.

Members of our staff live and work directly in partnering communities to establish constructive, enduring relationships from within. We also act as a catalyst in bringing together other partnerships that address community-defined needs.

The strength of the UW-Yakima Valley Community Partnership lies in the strength of its partnership with Heritage University. Leveraging the strengths of both these universities, we've been able to build on, and extend existing UW work in the Yakima Valley, with a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, to economic, technology, and neighborhood improvement.
