The Japanese Ministry of Education (MEXT) wanted to improve the speaking abilities and teaching skills of non-native speakers of English who teach English to Japanese high school and middle school students. Instructors received scholarships for this program.

Bring a group of teacher-participants to the UW each summer for a two-month teacher training program. Teachers improve their English with professionals in the field of English language instruction.
